Add a trip type

Create a trip type — the species, duration, pricing, and logistics for a kind of trip you offer.

A trip type is the foundation of everything you sell. It defines a species, duration, price, and logistics for one kind of trip (for example 'Salmon' or 'Fly Fishing — Trout'). Seasons, bookings, and pricing all hang off it, so it's the first thing to set up.

Create one

  1. Go to Trips in the sidebar and choose Add Trip.
  2. Step 1 — Details: name it, set the species, duration in days, guiding ratio, and an optional description.
  3. Step 2 — Pricing & logistics: set price per person, deposit %, optional license fee, and optionally the water, meeting point, inclusions/exclusions, and cancellation policy.
  4. Save. You can add pricing variations (e.g. 1-on-1 vs 2-on-1) on the same form.

Pricing lives on the trip type — seasons inherit it, so you don't re-enter prices per season. Trip type names are unique within your outfit.

On Basic you can have up to 3 trip types; Pro and Business are unlimited. A trip type that has seasons can't be deleted — it's deactivated instead, to protect historical bookings.
